Alan Mathison Turing (London, 1912 \u2013 Wilmslow, 1954) was a mathematician, cryptographer, philosopher and marathon runner. He is considered to be one of the forefathers of computer science and a precursor for modern information technology. During the Second World War he worked on deciphering Nazi codes.
